Aim and purpose
The purpose of this field-oriented project is to equip students with knowledge of the field research process, designing a field research project and challenges related to planning and performing field research. The aim is that the student enhances his or her competences to develop a research design tailored to resolve a market-oriented or managerial problem.

Learning goals
After the course, the student should be able to:
- -Demonstrate knowledge of methods for field research by being able to:
Discuss various methods and their suitability for solving a specific market-oriented or managerial problem.
Describe the relation between conceptual and methodological aspects of the research process.
- Demonstrate skills to plan a field research project by
Providing a definition of a clear and solvable research question.
Setting up a research plan that:
- Clearly takes contextual issues into account
- Is targeted at giving the information needed to solve the problem
- Describes how data retention and analysis will be carried out - -Demonstrate competence to:
Assess consequences of methodological choices
Act professionally by considering ethical and other dilemmas when planning the research project
Communicate and argue for a field research plan to solve a specific problem.

Exam: The project report must be handed in no later than Tuesday in week 49 at 12:00 (noon) (autumn semester) / Tuesday in week 19 at 12:00 (noon) (spring semester).
Reexam: The project report must be handed in Tuesday week 8 at 12:00 (noon) (autumn semester) / Tuesday week 34 at 12:00 (noon) (spring semester).
The form for the re-exam can be changed by the study board.

The project report must meet formalities for written assignments in Economics and Business Administration (can be found at the page for the programme under “Exam”).
Regardless whether the report is handed in the first time for the ordinary exam or for the reexam, supervision takes place only in the time before the date stipulated for handing in for the ordinary exam.
Reexam: Same format as ordinary exam.
