Aim and purpose

Advanced Macroeconomics introduces students to the key research areas within the field of macroeconomics. This enables the student to understand modern macroeconomic theories and use this knowledge to analyze topical macroeconomic issues. 

Content

The course introduces key areas within modern macroeconomic research. These areas may include theories and empirical evidence related to:
•Economic growth
•Economic crises
•Individuals’ decision on consumption and saving
•Investment decisions in firms
•Historical origins of comparative economic development
•Relationships between demography and the economy

To achieve the purpose of the subject, the learning goals ensure that the student:

Location: Examination room at the university. Examination takes place using the student's own computer being able to access the university wireless network. 
Internet Access: Necessary. 

The examination tests the students' achievement on all specified targets.

Students having passed the bachelor course Videregående makroøkonomisk analyse (9150502) cannot be examined in this course.

Used examination attempts in the former identical course will be transferred.
Courses that are identical with former courses that are passed according to applied rules cannot be retaken.

The student is automatically registered for the first examination attempt when the student is registered for a course or course element with which one or more examinations are associated. Withdrawal of registration is not possible, and students who fail to participate in an examination have used one examination attempt, unless the University has made an exemption due to special circumstances. 
If a student does not meet the established university prerequisites for taking the exam, he or she has used one examination attempt, unless the University has made an exemption due to special circumstances.

The student is responsible for registering for 2nd and 3rd examination attempt.
